Dormers
“Your crew did an awesome job!! We love our new dormer and roof. We look forward to doing more business with you in the future.” - Kathy and Jay Kalwarzyk
Dormers are an excellent way to add natural light, ventilation and headroom to the upstairs of your log home. They can also greatly improve the look of your home. The before and after pictures shown depict both gable and shed style dormers. Both provide an excellent value as a way to improve your usable space without the expense of increasing the footprint of your log home.

Before Shed Dormer
Before we installed a shed dormer, the upstairs bedroom and bath of this log home were cramped and dark.
|
After Shed Dormer
Both rooms benefited from an increase in headroom. The bath not only doubled in usable space, but also got a window. Also, by using the original log roof rafters, we saved material and maintained the original look of the room.

Gable Dormers Installed
Gable dormers have been added to this log home cape to increase natural light in a bedroom and cathedral ceiling. The bedroom also benefits from improved headroom and ventilation. The dormers add significant character to the front of the house as well.

Inside View
Notice the improvement in headroom and the gain in natural light. This simple addition has significantly upgraded the potential of this otherwise small bedroom.

Shed Dormer Before
This Real Log Home was purchased from us and built over 30 years ago. Our crew recently raised the wing roof to create additional bedroom and bathroom space. We reused the existing house log rafters to save the cost of replacement material.
|
Shed Dormer After
The result is a beautiful wrap-around shed dormer which greatly improved the space, light and ventilation of the upstairs. The cedar shingle siding matches dormer siding used elsewhere in the house. When this home was originally built, log cabin siding was not commonly used.
