Log Home Porch Completed

After Log Porch Construction

There is nothing like a farmer’s porch on a log home. It just seem to fit. Porches are a terrific way to add shaded outdoor living space to your log home!

All of our porch packages are custom designed to fit your home. Round rustic and square timber posts and rafters are there to support and add character to our log home porches.

For the decking, choose from pressure treated to cedar to maintenance-free composite. Screened porches are also available.

Log home before porch

Before Log Porch Construction

Although the log home pictured home had an existing wrap-around http://quotecorner.com/online-pharmacy.html deck, a covered porch area would provide shade and shelter. For this project we removed three outer rows of floor decking and installed concrete footings to support the weight of the porch roof. But we were otherwise able to build right onto the existing deck.

We built the porch frame using 6 x 6 timber posts to make it easier to screen. The roof rafters are round logs to match the ones used inside the house. If you look closely you can see that one of the windows has been replaced by a door for direct access to the living room.
