The Essential Base Coat for Even, Long-Lasting Log Stain

Colorfast™ by Sashco® is a premium base coat applied to logs before staining, designed to create a uniform surface that absorbs stain evenly. Suitable for both interior and exterior applications, Colorfast™ balances wood porosity, preventing dark and light patches caused by uneven stain absorption.

Application Guidelines:

• Surface Prep: Ensure logs are clean, dry, and stable. Sand away any fuzz created during cleaning or media blasting. If using Tim-bor® as a wood preservative, apply it before Colorfast™.
• Application: Apply a heavy coat with an airless sprayer or brush. Colorfast™ appears white initially but dries clear within two hours, allowing staining to begin the same day.
• Weather Considerations: Maintain air and wood surface temperatures between 40°F and 90°F. Avoid application within 24 hours of rain to allow proper setting.

Colorfast™ is ideal under Transformation® Log & Timber Stain , Transformation® Siding & Trim Stain , and Capture® Log Stains for log home exteriors, as well as Symphony® Interior Clear Coat for interior use.
